In this Buzz Home Office project, our fantastic team designed and installed a bespoke home office space, which would allow the customer to not only work from home but also use it as an arts & crafts space.
The customers, Mr & Mrs Edward, had previously been working in that room but it was filled with storage boxes, and so, they were looking for a dedicated home office space which would also provide them with plenty storage.
Unfortunately, due to COVID restrictions, we were unable to carry out a site survey and meet the customers face to face. However, despite this, we were still able to build a good relationship with the customers and deliver exactly what they were looking for.
Our team designed a Home Hive solution which transformed the space into a functional home office and arts and crafts room.
The main requirements of the design were:
- Storage, in the form of a bespoke unit with a mix of open and closed shelving
- To provide enough workspace for 2 dedicated seating areas
- A ‘clean’ working area separate from the workspace
Our design team came up with the idea of a cubed storage unit for the wall which would provide a mix of open shelving for easy access to supplies, while closing off some sections with doors for hidden storage.
The worktop was designed to include different seating areas – 1 for a desktop computer and another for arts & crafts.
The solution also included 3 static base units with drawers as well as a 3-drawer pedestal on wheels, to be hidden away when needed. A tall cupboard at 450x450x1460mm with 3-tier adjustable shelving inside was also installed for even more storage.
A separate ‘clean’ working area was provided in the form of a pull-out desk underneath one of the workspaces, which can be easily accessed when needed and hidden away when it’s not.
Also, above the wall unit, we included over-panels which stops any dust settling and also covers up any dead space.
A cable tidy was also installed along the wall to hide all cables and wires, ideal for keeping the workspace uncluttered.
To complete the look, the customer chose Silver Grey for all the units and Anthracite Fineline Metallic for the worktop which contains a slight linear grain through the material meaning it will show little to no marks, providing better durability for arts & crafts projects.
Mr Edward was delighted with the end result commenting: “I would highly recommend these guys! Their expert team was able to design and install a great office/craft room space, with everything we wanted. And they were professional from start to finish.”
